I Got Cocky (aka Day 7)

So I guess this is why Dr. Ian Smith didn't want you to weigh in every day. I gained a half a pound and I am feeling super depressed. Yesterday was my first fat smash day that I didn't have to work, and the way I see it, I did three things wrong.

1- I didn't eat enough. I was out and about doing stuff, and I had what could barely constitute as 3 meals, let alone 5 with snacking.

2- I didn't work out. I mean, I was outside all day at the park and at a pond with my dog, but he did the swimming, not me. And we threw the football around, but that wasn't much running. If I sweat, it was only because it was hot.

3- I accidentally cheated, and did it at the worst time of day. Steve and I went BACK to the grocery store (anyone else think this diet is getting expensive?) and found the wonderful brand of BOCA that produces more fake meats (in the frozen section.) We saw fake chicken for the first time, and Steve wanted to get it (obviously), so we threw it in the cart and planned on making it for dinner. Little did we realize at the time that it was breaded fake chicken, which is not on the diet. Since we were starving and were all out of chili, we decided to go for it anyway. Let me tell you, it was delicious. Steve sauteed some onions, peppers, and mushrooms, cut up some fresh tomatoes and lettuce, and we used 2 patties each like a sandwich and it was heaven. That's when I started to feel really guilty. And it was for dinner! Not a lot of time to digest. So I am very sorry, I didn't realize and I feel very bad. Obviously I am paying for it today.

That being said, I am trying not to get too down. I'm going to make a very conscious effort today to fix all of the things I did wrong yesterday. Depending on how I do, I may or may not add an extra day onto the end of the detox phase (to make it 10 days total.) How is everybody else doing?

  1. Welllll I lost .2 pounds (no not two, but 2 tenths of a pound) two days ago and then nothing yesterday, but I didn't work out yesterday either, so I guess that makes a big difference-- and while I'd LOVE to lose one more, it looks like it might just not happen (which is fine by me). Anyway, back to you- I think eating a heavy dinner always yields higher numbers on the scale, so in general, while I always weigh myself every day, I try to take a "weekly average" mentally. I'm sure the not eating all day played a role in this as well. Finally, I realllly hope you don't get too down on yourself because I am sure you will lose more weight in the next few days, AND this diet is about a) losing weight overall, b) feeling good, and c) learning the key to a healthy lifestyle. You have definitely been losing weight and feeling good right? I bet tomorrow will be better.

Sidenote: I watched the Washington Freedom and Sky Blue FC play yesterday (Women's Professional Soccer) and they were so awesome. I was blown away with how good they were since I was really skeptical. SO I would definitely encourage anyone who has a team nearby to head out and watch. :)
